Paris, Stage 7: Several thousand well-wishers are expected to welcome Team Rynkeby to Paris today when the charity cycling team arrives in the French capital after eight days in the saddle for a good cause.
The 2,000 cyclists from 7 countries will arrive at the 'Prairie du Cercle Sud' between 13:30 and 14:30.
If you’re not in Paris today, you can follow the event LIVE on this page starting at 13:00, where Heidi Frederikke Sigdal and Mikkel Tholstrup Dahlqvist will guide viewers through the proceedings as they unfold.
“Although a huge number of people will be in Paris today, we know that a great many more are at home who would like to be part of the action when the teams arrive. Team Rynkeby impacts so many people throughout Europe and many of them have followed us all week long. Today is the culmination of everything, and it’s going to be very emotional, so naturally there’s a lot of interest,” says Carl Erik Dalbøge, Director of the Team Rynkeby Foundation.
54 teams from seven countries
This year’s Team Rynkeby field is the biggest yet.
A total of 54 teams from seven countries is participating in the Tour de Paris. The teams have taken different routes to Paris, and it will be at 'Prairie du Cercle Sud' that all of the teams gather and the Tour formally concludes.
“In addition to the 2,000 cyclists, we’ve also got 500 service volunteers putting up the pavilion tents on the square where the participants and their friends and families will be gathered as the teams come in. It’s going to be a big day with many joyous reunions, but it’s likely that there will also be a somewhat bittersweet atmosphere among the cyclists as they suddenly realise that it’s all over,” says Carl Erik Dalbøge.
