Lovisa didn’t stand a chance
It is every parent's worst nightmare to hear that your child has no chance of survival. But this is the reality for children diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a tumour located in the brain stem. It’s a disease that no child has survived. "We got 10 months with Lovisa before she passed away", says Thomas Rydström, currently cycling towards Paris with TRGM Malmö as a tribute to his daughter.
“We started from scratch – but we’re always learning something new”
Ahead of this season, the Team Rynkeby Foundation established its first team in Germany. The learning curve has been steep for Team Rynkeby – hohes C Nieder-Olm, but after just three days in the saddle everything is coming together.
Hanna survived the cancer – “A maximum dose was my only chance to survive.”
At the age of four, Hanna Falk was diagnosed with leukaemia. Fifteen years later, after spending many hours inside a hospital, she was told she was cancer-free. “I found out afterwards that I came so close to dying,” says Hanna, who is participating with TRGM Linköping for the first time.

Jette Haugaard and Kasper Mikkelsen are mother and son-in-law. They’re united on Team Rynkeby for a very special reason.
"No parent should have to watch their child die"
"The more parents who won't have to experience their child dying, the better". That's how Roger Bäcklund describes his involvement in the team and why this project is so close to his heart. Six years ago to the day, on the same day as the start of Tour de Paris, Roger's daughter passed away from skin cancer.
