Charity Cycling Team Gets Their Christmas Presents Early This Year

The Team Rynkeby charity bike riders will get every opportunity to put good mileage in their legs before the upcoming summer’s cycling trip to Paris. The first yellow bikes are being delivered to the bike riders just now.

What is a bike rider without his/her bike? Nobody!

Now it won’t be long before the Team Rynkeby riders can hop in the saddle and hit the road.

Right now, Team Rynkeby is receiving the first bikes that will take the European charity cycling team all the way to Paris next summer.

The delivery takes place well over three months ahead of schedule which gives the riders plenty of time to put the expected mileage in their legs before next summer’s trip to Paris, says Carl Erik Dalbøge, CEO of Team Rynkeby Foundation.

- According to our agreement with Bianchi, delivery was to take place before March 1, 2020. It therefore comes as a pleasant surprise that many of the bikes are already here. This means that many of our participants will be out on the roads before Christmas, says Carl Erik Dalbøge.

Custom Made to Fit the Purpose
It is the ninth time that Bianchi, the traditional Italian bicycle manufacturing company, is building bikes for Team Rynkeby. Like last year, this year’s Team Rynkeby racing bike is built on Bianchi’s Intrepida carbon frame with a full 11-speed Shimano 105 group and Shimano wheels.

- This year’s bike is largely identical with last year’s bike with one exception: There is now also a Swiss flag on the fork because Team Rynkeby has started a team in Zürich. This means we’re now represented by teams in eight countries plus an international team with riders from an additional four countries, says Carl Erik Dalbøge and continues,

- The riders will get a custom-made bike designed for the purpose. It is built on high-quality components, offers a comfortable riding position making it ideal for long distances. And the carbon frame clearly beats any other frame we have tried in the past. In other words: the riders certainly get their money’s worth with this new bike, he continues.

Getting Sponsors
But there’s more to being a Team Rynkeby bike rider: Right now, the participants are also busy finding the sponsors that wish to have their logo on the yellow cycling jersey of the charity cycling team.

- The deadline for clothing sponsorships closes on January 17, 2020. Subsequently, all clothing will be ordered in Italy for delivery around Easter after which time, the real, structured, outdoor training starts, says Carl Erik Dalbøge.

This year, Team Rynkeby consists of 2,100 bike riders plus 550 helpers in a total of 57 teams in eight different countries: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, The Faroe Islands, Iceland, Germany – and now also Switzerland.
